Ramadan Appeal August 2013
After running a successful human appeal campaign in July, the Australian Relief Organisation officials personally delivered thousands of iftars and hundreds of food packs through a number of distribution programs across Indonesia.
On August the 1st, a distribution iftar was hosted by the SBBS Sragen Bilingual Boarding School in the city of Solo, where a vast number of orphans from the precinct were brought and provided with iftar dinner.
On the 2nd of August, an ARO delegation visited the rehabilitation centre called the Bahasi Rehabilitasi Panti Raharja Sragen. Within this complex, there were 35 orphans who suffer mental illnesses and they were provided with food packs and small gifts by ARO officials. The delegation later continued onto another orphanage called Panti Asuhan Putra & Putri. After being briefed by the orphanage officials, ARO officials distributed food packs again.
Next day, the delegation visited many households and delivered food packs to a number of families who are in need due to financial instability. The heartfelt smiles and sincerity of the recipients were unforgettable. After establishing many friendships and touching many hearts and souls, the ARO delegation returned to Australia on August 8.
