Clothing Appeal March 2014
In the late 2013 Cambodia faced heavy floods due to Monsoon rains nearly 190 people died and around 144,000 people were affected and got homeless due to this disaster, this was spread in almost every province of the Cambodia covering approximately 80% of the country. A human appeal organisation in Cambodia and National Police of Cambodia requested an appeal to their country. In early 2014 Australian Relief Organisation initiated Clothing and Blanket appeal for the Cambodian people in their established headquarters in Sydney.
The Australian nation responded in positive way and showed that they are being there for the Cambodian people. After 3 months of collection campaign a breakfast program was organised by Australian Relief on 15th March 2014 with attendance of more than 40 people. MP for Reid Craig Laundy also visited the headquarters and joined for breakfast. Later everyone helped in loading the container, MP Craig Laundy showed his generous gesture by joining hands with other volunteers.
The 40ft container was sent to Cambodia on 18th March, the clothing distribution will take place on 23rd April 2014, in the city of Batambang.
