Victoria Branch Iftar Dinner
On Sat 01 June 2019, our Melbourne branch has held its fifth annual iftar. Vic State Manager Ali Goru made the opening speech of the event that was held at Serenity Reception Centre. Emphasised on importance of sharing, Goru underlined that if there is help available to needy, then it will be possible to restore peace and harmony at that location. Sirius College teacher Leyla Yavuzlar and 3 students shared their experiences about the charity mission trip to Cambodia organised by our organisation. Along with our 2019 Ramadan Appeal program, the school collected food pack and iftar dinner donations and travelled to Cambodia to share them with locals. Later, Atilla Ergi, CEO of Serenity Foundation, took stage and explained the difference between pity and empathy and our inner instinct to help. Last, Hume Councillor Karen Sheery addressed the audience and expressed the significance of helping to needy. Throughout the evening, the mood was positive and the event ended with presentation of certificates to donors. Thank you for your support of our operations.
