In it for Indonesia

As Year 12 students at a girls’ high school, my students wanted to support girls who do not have many opportunities to continue their education. The ARO branch manager explained to us that if enough financial support cannot be found, the girls’ dormitories may face the danger of closing down. This deeply touched my students, and they did not want this to happen.
As young women themselves, they found it especially meaningful to support other girls in continuing their education. They believed that by helping these students access safe accommodation and educational opportunities, the girls and their families would feel more secure and hopeful about their future.
In rural Indonesia, girls aren't dropping out of school because they lack work ethic. It's the opposite. They're dropping out because the dormitory that made school possible is days from closing down.
No dorm. No school. It's that simple. And it's that cruel.
We're a Year 12 cohort raising $25,000 to keep these doors open. Because the difference between a girl who gets an education and a girl who doesn't is an amount already sitting in your pocket - one you won't remember spending.
But she will. For the rest of her life.
Close the dorm, end the dream. It really is that simple.
Donate now. Whatever you can.
