Clean Water Changes Everything
Across Africa and Asia, millions of children walk up to six kilometres every day to collect unsafe water — often contaminated and life-threatening. This daily struggle robs them of education and weighs heavily on their families.
At the Australian Relief Organisation (ARO), we’re changing this. So far, we’ve built 260+ water wells, giving over thousands of children and families access to safe, clean water — and hope for a healthier, brighter future.
This year, we’re also bringing that same mission closer to home, funding a clean water project for a regional school right here in Australia — because access to safe water shouldn’t depend on where you live.
Why Join Walk & Ride?
By walking or riding in this event, you’re not just moving your body — you’re helping children, orphans, and communities gain access to clean, safe water, both overseas and here at home.
Our goal is to raise $60,000 to build sustainable water wells in rural communities across Africa and Asia, while also funding a clean water project for a regional school in Australia.
Each well provides clean water to hundreds of children, helping them learn, grow, and dream again — and every dollar raised also brings safe water closer to a school in our own backyard.

All participants are kindly asked to meet at their allocated meeting points at least 20 minutes before their start time.
A Family Day with Purpose
This isn’t just a walk or a ride — it’s a family-friendly day of purpose, learning, and joy.
We want families and children to come together, understand the reality of those who struggle for clean water, and enjoy meaningful time outdoors.
After the walk and rides, we’ll have interactive awareness activities designed especially for kids — including a fun “Water Bucket Challenge”, where children will carry small buckets of water to experience what kids in need go through every day.
It’s a chance to learn through empathy, act with compassion, and have fun together as a community.
