You meant to give Qurban this Eid ul-Adha. You meant to lock it in last week. Then life happened — work, family, a flat phone, the donation you saved for half-done in a browser tab that closed.
It’s not too late to act. But you need to know exactly what is and isn’t possible at this stage of Eid ul-Adha 2026. This piece gives you the honest answer.
If you’re still inside the window, give Qurban now from $180 →.
The deadline in plain English
Qurban must be performed during the days of sacrifice — the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul Hijjah. Eid ul-Adha 2026 is expected to begin around 27 May 2026 (subject to moon sighting), so the four days of sacrifice are approximately 27 May to 30 May.
For your donation through ARO to be valid as Qurban, it must be received before the third day of Eid. Practically, that means by the end of the second day of Eid at the latest. After that window closes, the sacrifice can no longer be performed within the prescribed time.
You haven’t missed it yet if…
It’s still the 1st, 2nd or early 3rd day of Eid in Australia. ARO can still process your donation and perform Qurban on your behalf. Give Qurban right now →. Don’t read another sentence. Donate first; we’ll be here when you come back.
It’s the days leading up to Eid. You’re early. Lock it in today. The earlier in the window your donation lands, the more confidently ARO’s teams can plan a dignified distribution.
You have missed Qurban specifically if…
It’s the 4th day of Eid (the 13th of Dhul Hijjah) past sunset, or later. The days of sacrifice are closed for this year.
If that’s your situation, here’s the honest answer: you cannot make up Qurban after the window. Qurban is time-bound by the four days of Dhul Hijjah. A donation made after that point is no longer Qurban under Islamic law.
But that doesn’t mean nothing useful can be done.
What you can still do this week
Even if the Qurban window has closed for 2026, three meaningful actions remain on the table:
1. Give Sadaqah equivalent to a Qurban share
Donate the amount you would have given for Qurban — $180, $230 or $450 — as Sadaqah toward ARO’s Hunger Relief program, General Sadaqah / Zakat Donation, or any other ARO project that speaks to you. It is no longer a Qurban — but it is still a substantial act of charity that feeds families in need.
For how Sadaqah differs from Qurban, see our explainer: Qurban vs Sadaqah vs Zakat in 2026.
2. Set a reminder for Qurban 2027 — now
While the regret is fresh, do the simple thing that prevents it next year: open your calendar and put a reminder in for late April or early May 2027. That’s roughly four to six weeks before Eid ul-Adha 2027. When the reminder fires, give your Qurban that day. Done.
3. Consult a local imam about your specific situation
If your circumstances were unusual — illness, travel, hardship — speak to your local imam about whether any qada (making up) is appropriate in your school of thought, or how best to channel the intention you had. This piece is general guidance, not a fatwa.
What about year-round programs?
ARO runs causes that need consistent giving regardless of season. If “I missed Qurban” is what brought you back to the page, these are excellent next steps:
All are tax-deductible through ARO (DGR endorsed by the ATO, ABN 60 159 966 659).
Why missing it once doesn’t define your relationship with Qurban
For donors reading this in regret — please know: Allah’s mercy is wider than your missed deadline. The intention you held this year matters. The remorse you feel matters. The action you take in the next ten minutes matters more than the action you didn’t take last week.
If the donation page is still open, click. If it’s already past the window for Qurban, give a Sadaqah equivalent to Hunger Relief. Either way, don’t let one missed Eid become the reason you stop trying.
If you’re still inside the window — give Qurban now
If you’re reading this and it’s still day 1 or 2 of Eid ul-Adha 2026, you’re still in time. Don’t keep scrolling.
