Eid ul-Adha is almost here, and for Muslim Australians, that means one obligation rises above the rest: giving Qurban. With Eid ul-Adha 2026 expected to fall around 27 May 2026 (subject to moon sighting), the window to organise your sacrifice is shorter than most of us would like.

This guide is your one-stop reference for giving Qurban in Australia this year. It covers the three ARO Qurban tiers for 2026, what each one delivers, who must give Qurban, how to lock in your donation before the third day of Eid, and what makes ARO’s program — now in its 13th year — a trusted choice for thousands of Aussie Muslim families.

A quick word for 2026: this year is different

We’ve published plenty on Qurbani before — what it means, who it’s obligatory upon, the rules around animal age and health, the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). This guide isn’t a re-run. It’s the practical, 2026-specific donor’s playbook: new pricing, current distribution map, the latest impact figures from 2025, and the deadlines that actually matter this year.

For the foundational fiqh and history, see our existing pieces:

This piece focuses on the doing part for 2026.

When is Eid ul-Adha 2026 in Australia?

Eid ul-Adha 2026 in Australia is expected to begin around 27 May 2026, the 10th of Dhul Hijjah. The exact date is subject to moon sighting and may shift by a day.

The deadline that matters: Qurban must be performed during the days of sacrifice — the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul Hijjah. For your donation to be valid, ARO must receive it before the third day of Eid. Practically speaking, this means: don’t wait until Eid morning. The earlier your donation is received, the more confidently we can ensure your Qurban is performed and distributed within the prescribed days.

We strongly recommend giving Qurban no later than the day before Eid ul-Adha — and ideally, this week. Give Qurban now →

ARO Qurban 2026 — the three tiers

For 2026, ARO offers three Qurban tiers. Each one is halal, tax-deductible in Australia, and performed on your behalf by qualified individuals during the days of Eid ul-Adha.

1. Africa, Asia & Pacific — $180 AUD (most popular)

Your Qurban is performed and distributed to families in need across Africa, Asia, and Pacific countries. This tier is the most accessible price point and the most-selected option among Aussie Muslim donors.

2. Where Most Needed — $230 AUD

You let ARO direct your Qurban to the country and community where the need is greatest at the time of Eid ul-Adha 2026. Because conditions on the ground change — disasters, displacement, food shortages — the “Where Most Needed” tier puts your donation where it will have the highest impact this year. We’ve written a separate explainer on exactly how that decision gets made: How ARO decides where your $230 goes →.

3. Lebanon & Yemen — $450 AUD

Lebanon and Yemen are facing some of the most severe food insecurity in the world. Your Qurban delivers vital protein and nourishment to families who have endured prolonged crisis. The price reflects the cost and complexity of delivering halal meat in these regions. More on why this tier exists: Qurban for Lebanon & Yemen 2026 →.
